Aeton Law Partners is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its expanding commercial and general litigation practice. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage your own files and work alongside some of Connecticut’s most experienced litigators on a wide range of challenging and high-impact matters.
Our litigation practice is dynamic and wide-ranging, regularly managing high-stakes disputes and litigating against large law firms. You will have the opportunity to work on sophisticated, complex cases, both as lead counsel and as part of litigation teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough, in-depth research on complex legal issues in support of partners and senior attorneys
- Draft pleadings and dispositive motions for state and federal court with efficiency and precision
- Take and defend depositions
- Communicate complex legal issues clearly and effectively to clients, third parties, and colleagues
- Argue motions in state and federal court, as well as in arbitration proceedings
- Opportunity to serve as first chair and second chair on complex commercial and business litigation matters
- Develop and maintain client relationships to support ongoing and new business
- Collaborate with firm partners to design and implement an individual development and marketing plan
Qualifications
- Admission to the Connecticut Bar and the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut
- Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial and general litigation
- Excellent legal research skills
- Clear, concise, and efficient writing ability, with a preference for candidates who have served as primary authors of dispositive motions in state and federal court
- Experience taking depositions
- Ability to communicate complex legal issues effectively, both verbally and in writing, including in pleadings and arguments
- Confidence and professionalism when interacting with clients, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders
- Ability to collaborate effectively with junior attorneys and support staff
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $115,000-$175,000 annually, commensurate with experience, plus performance-based bonus opportunity
