A dental receptionist greets clients arriving at the clinic and directs them to the appropriate waiting area. They answer phone calls and emails, take messages, schedule appointments, check insurance benefits, send insurance claims and post payments. A dental receptionist is also in charge of general office duties and ordering office supplies. A dental receptionist is the first point of contact for any dental office and should be polite and have great customer service skills.
Dental Receptionist job duties and responsibilities
A dental receptionist should expect to perform many different duties, which can include:
- Greet all clients in the office a direct them to the appropriate area of the clinic.
- Answer all phone calls and emails, answer any client questions, and take messages if needed.
- Schedule all appointments.
- Check & verify insurance benefits.
- Submit insurance claims and pre-authorization.
- Use all office equipment, and maintain and order all office supplies.
- Process payments.
- Good knowledge of social media. Post on social media if requested.

- Follow up Lab orders and deliveries.
- cross trained from the back to the front when needed.
- has experience in dental assistant is a plus
