Job Title: Registered Nurse, Aesthetic Ambulatory Surgery Center
Responsible To: RN Charge Nurse, ASC
Responsible For: Aesthetic Surgery Patients – Procedural/Surgical Care – Preop, Post OP and Interoperative
Overtime Status: 32 hour week with little to no OT
Job Summary:
Responsible for providing professional nursing care in the Peri-op, PACU and Ambulatory Surgery setting for patients.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities:
Patient Care–
- Preoperative assessments
- Patient education/answer questions related to procedure
- Start IVs and medications
- Monitor Vitals
- OR Circulator – assist in OR
- Monitor patients in recovery (PACU)
- Address questions/complications/concerns
- Educate patients/families on discharge instructions
Collaboration and Communication-
- Work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient status and care plans.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care activities in EHR.
- Responds to and triage incoming surgery patient calls (preop and post-op).
Quality and Safety-
- Adhere to ASC policies, procedures, and regulatory standards to ensure patient safety and high-quality care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of care delivery.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of medications and medical supplies.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in ambulatory surgery nursing.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
Professional Development-
- Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education to maintain licensure and enhance clinical skills.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations.
Qualifications-
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- PALS certification preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a surgical or periop but new graduates are welcome to apply and will also be considered.
