Job Description
AES Restaurant Group is seeking a motivated and detail oriented Staff Accountant to join our corporate office in Zionsville, Indiana. The ideal candidate will be interested in long term growth within a multi unit restaurant organization. This role requires strong attention to detail, accountability, and the confidence to follow up persistently with vendors and internal partners to ensure issues are resolved accurately and timely.
Duties
• Assist with month end close process including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Communicate directly with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies, missing documentation, and outstanding credits.
• Follow up consistently with vendors and internal teams until issues are resolved.
• Support accounts payable and general ledger functions as needed.
• Maintain accurate financial records and organized documentation.
• Assist with financial reporting and internal analysis.
• Collaborate with field operators and leadership regarding financial inquiries.
• Identify process improvement opportunities within accounting workflows.
Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; or currently pursuing with relevant experience
• Two years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to organize and analyze data.
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with vendors and internal leadership.
• Demonstrated willingness to speak up, ask questions, and hold others accountable when needed.
• Interest in developing a long term career in accounting.
