Job Description
AES Restaurant Group is hiring a Risk and Compliance Coordinator to support the organization’s risk management and compliance programs. This role will oversee workers’ compensation, general liability, and unemployment claims across our restaurant locations. You will work directly with insurance adjusters, internal leadership, and field teams to ensure claims are handled accurately, follow up stays on track, and issues are escalated appropriately. You will also help identify, monitor, and report on operational risk trends to help reduce workplace risk.
Duties
- Manage workers’ compensation, general liability, and unemployment claims across all locations.
- Compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Track claim progress, maintain accurate documentation, and keep detailed case notes of claim and compliance activities.
- Coordinate return to work processes and follow ups for injured employees.
- Provide periodic risk reviews to leadership and share trends or recurring issues.
- Act as the primary point of contact for insurance adjusters on open claims.
- Review recommendations, settlement proposals, and reserve changes.
- Coordinate communication between adjusters, legal counsel, HR, and operations teams.
- Identify trends in claim activity and recommend ways to reduce injury and liability exposure.
- Support safety initiatives, training efforts, and compliance audits across locations.
- Stay current on workers’ compensation laws, unemployment requirements, and insurance best practices.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on claim activity, costs, and risk trends.
- Maintain organized documentation aligned with company policy and regulatory standards.
- Assist with internal investigations related to accidents and incidents when needed.
Experience
- Strong understanding of insurance processes and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and follow through skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks at once with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with claims systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
- Ability to effectively communicate with leadership.
- Experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments (preferred).
- Multi state claims exposure (preferred).
- Knowledge of safety programs and risk mitigation strategies (preferred).
