Job Description
AES Restaurant Group is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant General Manager to join the leadership team at our Arby’s restaurant in Cornelia, Georgia. The Assistant General Manager works closely with the General Manager to support daily restaurant operations, team performance, staffing, guest satisfaction, food safety, and financial results.
The ideal candidate has restaurant management experience, preferably within a quick-service or fast-food environment, and is ready to take the next step in their leadership career. This position requires a hands-on leader who can coach employees, maintain high operational standards, help drive restaurant performance, and step in to lead the restaurant when the General Manager is unavailable.
Duties
- Support the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations while maintaining high standards for food quality, cleanliness, safety, service, and guest satisfaction.
- Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, and retaining restaurant team members.
- Help create a positive, accountable work environment focused on teamwork, development, and performance.
- Lead shifts and ensure employees are positioned and prepared to successfully handle business needs and peak periods.
- Assist with employee scheduling, staffing levels, and labor management.
- Support restaurant financial performance, including sales, labor, food cost, cash controls, inventory, and waste management.
- Review operational results with the General Manager and help implement action plans to improve performance.
- Set clear expectations for team members and provide coaching and accountability when standards are not met.
- Help train and develop Shift Managers and other high-potential employees for future leadership opportunities.
- Ensure proper execution of company systems, policies, procedures, and operating standards.
- Assist with inventory counts, product ordering, cash handling, and other restaurant administrative responsibilities.
- Address guest concerns promptly and professionally and support the team in delivering an excellent guest experience.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, workplace safety requirements, employment laws, and applicable government regulations.
- Take responsibility for restaurant operations when the General Manager is unavailable.
- Partner with the General Manager and Area Supervisor to support restaurant goals and continuously improve operational performance.
Experience
- A minimum of one to two years of restaurant management or supervisory experience, preferably within a quick-service or fast-food restaurant environment.
- Assistant Manager, Shift Manager, Restaurant Manager, or Assistant General Manager experience is preferred.
- Experience working in a high-volume, drive-thru restaurant environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, train, and motivate restaurant employees.
- Understanding of restaurant operations, including labor management, food cost, inventory, scheduling, cash controls, and food safety.
- Experience assisting with restaurant financial performance and understanding key operational results is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, delegation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain composure and make effective decisions in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a respectful, positive, and team-focused workplace.
- Willingness to learn, develop, and take on increased leadership responsibilities.
