Position Summary
Aertssen Logistics USA, Inc. is expanding its operations to Tacoma, WA, and seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our Paint team. The Vehicle Technician - Painter position is responsible for repairing and restoring the exterior of equipment by performing cosmetic work, including sanding, filling, painting, and refinishing, to ensure machines are delivered in visually excellent condition and meet quality standards.

This position is designated as a safety-sensitive role. The essential functions of this position include the operation of heavy machinery, construction equipment, powered industrial trucks (including forklifts), or the supervision of employees performing such duties. Performance of these duties while impaired could present a substantial risk of serious injury to the employee or others.
As a result, this position is subject to pre-employment and other drug testing requirements consistent with Company policy and applicable state and federal law.

Responsibilities
Cosmetic Repair and Paint Duties
- Identifies and assesses cosmetic damage on equipment, including scratches, dents, and rust.
- Performs bodywork using filler, sanding, priming, and refinishing techniques.
- Mixes and applies paint, primers, and coatings using spray equipment and hand tools.
- Ensures surface preparation and paint application meet quality standards.
- Maintains detailed records of work completed through the app.
- Cleans and maintains painting tools, spray booths, and work areas.
- Safely handles and stores paint, fillers, and other chemicals.
- Follows all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
- Coordinates with the paint team to ensure machines are ready for painting.
- Assists in preparing equipment for painting, including masking and disassembly as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in automotive or industrial painting and bodywork.
- Strong knowledge of fillers, paints, solvents, and other refinishing materials.
- Skilled in sanding, prepping, masking, and finishing surfaces.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality finishes.
- Ability to work independently and follow technical guidelines.
- Awareness of safety protocols when working with hazardous materials.
- Proficiency in operating construction equipment, aerial work platforms, and forklifts is preferred.
- Adaptability to changing warehouse environments.
- A valid driver's license with an insurable driving record.
- Ability to safely lift, push, and/or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds and perform regular physical tasks using proper techniques.
- Comfortable working in small or confined spaces and tight loading areas while maintaining situational awareness.
- Ability to climb up, under, around, and over large equipment and work safely at heights of up to 30 feet in accordance with safety procedures.
- Hourly range: $31.00 – $31.00 per hour (non-exempt, overtime eligible)
