Position Summary
The Kitting Technician is responsible for the accurate fabrication, assembly, and preparation of plastic sheeting products in accordance with company quality and production standards. This role ensures proper material handling, inventory control, documentation, and adherence to safety procedures while supporting efficient production and warehouse operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed:
- Read, understand, and follow all applicable work instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Set up work areas with required tools, materials, and patterns needed for fabrication and assembly.
- Read and interpret drawings, diagrams, work orders, and production schedules to accurately position, align, cut, and assemble components.
- Fabricate products using templates, fixtures, and measuring tools to meet precise specifications.
- Verify conformance of individual components and finished assemblies to dimensional and quality standards.
- Operate basic fabrication equipment and tools, including manual and electric scissors, safety knives, and other shop tools.
- Safely handle and move materials, including lifting rolls and components with assistance or mechanical devices when required.
- Pull, stage, fabricate, and distribute materials based on production schedules, customer orders, and work orders.
- Accurately complete production documentation and maintain records of work performed.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through proper counting, weighing, labeling, and electronic transactions in company systems.
- Store and organize materials in designated locations following inventory control procedures.
- Mark and label materials and finished products per customer and internal requirements.
- Move materials between receiving, storage, and production areas as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace in accordance with company policies and 6S principles.
QualificationsEducation and Experience
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- 1–3 months of related manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, or assembly experience preferred, but not required.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to accurately read and interpret measuring tools such as rulers and tape measures.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions, diagrams, and production documents.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use fabrication tools safely.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English.
- Organizational skills with the ability to manage materials and complete documentation accurately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn new processes and tasks.

- Ability to safely climb onto and off work tables.
- Repetitive use of hands for cutting, measuring, and assembling materials.
