Job Description

This position is responsible for the wiring and final assembly of panel boards related to low and medium voltage switchgears.

Responsibilities

• Wire electrical control panels and assemblies.
• Follow wiring diagrams and schematics to ensure accurate assembly.
• Install pre-wired panels into control boxes.
• Terminate wiring based on schematic specifications.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and understand blueprints and schematic drawings to determine wiring layouts.
• Inspect parts to identify defects and ensure quality standards are met.
• Ensure proper protective equipment is worn at all times and tools are used appropriately based on the task.
• Maintain regular in-person attendance as it is an essential function of this job.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience as a Panel Builder, Panel Wirer, or in a job shop environment.
• Proficiency in understanding electrical symbols and schematics.
• Ability to perform basic computer operations.
• Competence in using shop equipment and hand tools.
• Proficiency in basic math functions, including fractions and decimals.
• Ability to take direction, follow instructions, and work collaboratively with a positive attitude.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and conversing in English to effectively perform job duties such as facilitating department huddles and collaborating with engineers and project managers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical assembly and skills.
• Ability to use hand and power tools efficiently.
• High School Diploma or Technical School preferred but not required.

Work Environment

The work environment is a medium-sized facility with 60 employees, where manufacturing processes encompass everything from start to finish, including fabrication, welding, wiring, and assembly. The facility is very clean, new, modernly designed, and maintains comfortable temperatures for a conducive working atmosphere.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Charles, IL.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
