About the Company
Are you passionate about quality and collaboration? At Aerostar Manufacturing, we’re looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to make a direct impact on the performance and reliability of our supply base. In this role, you’ll partner with sourcing, engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure the products we receive meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.
About the Role
Qualify and develop new suppliers through audits and assessments.
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate supplier quality requirements (PPAP, control plans, etc.)
- Conduct supplier audits (on-site or remote) and assessments to ensure compliance with applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100).
- Lead investigations into supplier issues using root cause analysis tools (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone)
- Monitor supplier performance metrics (PPM, on-time delivery, SCARs, NCMRs) and drive improvements
- Support incoming inspection, MRB processes, and supplier corrective actions
- Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction projects
- Other job-related tasks and responsibilities to be identified and assigned by Quality Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field
- 3 years in supplier quality, manufacturing, or quality engineering
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of APQP, FMEA, SPC, and quality methodologies
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100
- Skilled in root cause analysis, problem-solving, and supplier development
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness to travel up to 20%
- ASQ CQE/CSQP, Six Sigma, or Lean certification = big plus!
- Automotive or aerospace industry experience = extra points!
