Role Description The Electrical Engineering Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Solon, OH, supporting maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities for aircraft electrical and electronic components. This role involves performing hands-on diagnostics, troubleshooting, and functional testing of electrical assemblies using a variety of test equipment and documented procedures. The technician will carry out detailed repairs, including soldering, wiring, and component replacement, while adhering to engineering specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. Daily responsibilities include interpreting electrical drawings and schematics, collaborating with engineers and procurement specialists on technical issues, and accurately documenting test results, repairs, and parts usage. The role also requires following safety protocols, participating in continuous improvement efforts, and supporting the development of solutions for obsolete or hard-to-source electrical components.
Qualifications
- Strong electrical fundamentals, including knowledge of Electricity and core Electrical Engineering concepts relevant to aircraft systems.
- Proficiency in hands-on repair techniques such as Soldering, assembly, and wiring of electrical and electronic components.
- Experience with Troubleshooting electrical circuits and systems, identifying faults, and implementing effective corrective actions.
- Ability to operate and interpret measurements from Test Equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and specialized test sets.
- Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or industrial electronics environments is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, work instructions, and engineering documentation.
- Strong attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
- Associate degree minimum in an Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers, technicians, and procurement staff.
