AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/22/2026
The Aerospace Corporation is the trusted partner to the nation's space programs, solving the hardest problems and providing unmatched technical expertise. As the operator of a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC), we are broadly engaged across all aspects of space- delivering innovative solutions that span satellite, launch, ground, and cyber systems for defense, civil and commercial customers. When you join our team, you'll be part of a special collection of problem solvers, thought leaders, and innovators. Join us and take your place in space.

Join our cutting-edge team at Goddard Space Flight Center, where you'll play a critical role in ensuring the success of the Lunar Communications Relay and Navigation Systems (LCRNS) Project, NASA's infrastructure for sustainable lunar exploration. As a Senior Member of Technical Staff, you'll lead independent testing efforts that verify mission-critical Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) requirements, bridging the gap between high-level mission objectives and hands-on hardware validation using advanced RF test equipment and automated test frameworks. This position offers the unique opportunity to shape test strategies for lunar navigation systems while collaborating directly with vendors and government teams to advance humanity's return to the Moon.

This is a full-time position based at either the Goddard Space Flight Center or our Aerospace office in Greenbelt, MD, offering a hybrid work model that combines 4 regular onsite workdays with remote flexibility as business needs allow.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Support Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) verification on NASA's LCRNS Project at GSFC while delivering results and operating strategically.
  • Foster Innovation and operate strategically through designing test plans, procedures, and automated Python/YAML scripts that flow down high-level mission objectives into executable verification activities using advanced RF equipment to validate system performance.
  • Conduct fault analysis on test discrepancies, and deliver innovative solutions that resolve technical issues while keeping the project on schedule to meet critical development milestones
  • Operate strategically to define how LCRNS PNT requirements will be verified across the entire project lifecycle, ensuring test plans align with verification needs and that the combination of testing methods provides comprehensive coverage, directly leading change in project technical direction and risk management
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may change, or new ones may be assigned as needed

What Corporate Skills You'll Bring
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Possess organizational, time management and project management skills
  • Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adapt to changing organizational need
  • Interpersonal skills to coordinate efforts and work with other internal and external organizations

  • Experience with automation and scripting, including python, yaml, etc.
  • Experience with Hardware: spectrum analyzer, network analyzers, etc.
  • Ability to process and analyze complex RF measurement data.
  • Experience with avionics and navigation systems for aerospace applications.
  • Willing to travel domestically approx. 10%

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Proficiency with vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, power meters and signal generators for RF characterization.
  • Knowledge of precision timing measurement systems for evaluating PNT signal quality
  • Knowledge of overall LCRNS PNT requirements and verification approaches including independent testing (IPT).
