Position Summary
Reporting to the Aero 3 President with dotted line to the VSE FP&A leader, the individual will work in close collaboration with the Aero 3 accounting team and VSE corporate finance team. The FP&A Leader will serve as a financial, planning and analysis leader and be a key strategic partner to the President and the broader senior executive management team. The individual will provide general administrative support as requested by the President.
The role will support the integrity and performance of all financial operations, working capital discipline, margin protection, and scalable financial infrastructure to support growth.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong advanced financial modeling, analysis capability, and a results-oriented mindset.
Scope of Responsibility
The FP&A Leader will oversee:
Financial planning & analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
· Working capital management and liquidity strategy.
· Supply chain financial oversight and inventory management.
· Contract economics, pricing analysis and invoicing accuracy.
Planning & Performance Management
· Lead annual budgets, rolling forecasts, variance analysis and long-range financial plans.
· Enhance reporting dashboards and cost visibility to support data-driven decisions.
· Provide business leaders with costs and performance metrics to drive financial performance.
· Promote financial accountability across departments.
Strategic & Operational Leadership
· Serve as a trusted advisor to the President, supporting both the President and the broader administrative team.
· Translate strategy into measurable financial and operational targets.
· Provide rigorous modeling and analysis for contracts, pricing, capital investments, and strategic initiatives.
· Collaborate with senior executive leadership team to drive margin expansion, cost discipline, and cross-functional performance improvement.
· Partner with site leads across Aero 3 locations to improve financial understanding and how to utilize data to drive decision making.
· Provide analysis to the VSE FP&A Lead.
· Support acquisition diligence.
Working Capital & Liquidity
· Optimize receivables, payables, and inventory performance.
· Lead cash conversion and liquidity forecasting.
· Align supply chain decisions with financial objectives.
Professional Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Business Administration required; MBA or CPA preferred.
· Minimum 10 years of progressive financial experience.
· Demonstrated success in budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and detailed reporting.
· ERP experience required; Quantum preferred.
· Aviation, MRO, manufacturing, or distribution experience are advantageous.
