This position supports the packing department by handling foam tubes, rolls, and laminated products, ensuring that all materials are prepared for shipment accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Package finished goods (foam tubes, rolls, laminated sheets) according to work instructions and quality standards
- Perform required in-line quality checks such as visual inspection, measurement verification, or basic packaging tests
- Apply correct labels, inserts, and packaging materials as specified
- Inspect finished products for damage or defects before packing
- Assist operators with loading/unloading materials on the packaging line
- Use shrink wrap machines, cutters, and other tools safely and correctly
- Keep the packing area clean, organized, and compliant with 5S and safety standards
- Track and report packed quantities, defects, and scrap to supervisors
- Follow daily production schedules and shift priorities
- Support team members in lifting, moving, and staging materials as needed
- Identify and report any issues in product quality, packaging supplies, or equipment
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately
- Comfortable working on feet for extended periods and handling physical tasks
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and team-first mindset
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a hot or noisy environment with PPE
- Experience in rubber, foam, or plastics packaging is a plus
- Familiarity with labeling systems, packing procedures, or shrink-wrap machines
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Forklift certification is a plus but not required
- Full-time, 1st Shift (Monday to Friday; overtime or weekends as needed)
- Work performed in a production/packaging area with exposure to noise, heat, and physical activity
- Standing, lifting, bending, and repetitive motions required throughout the shift
