Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards and specifications. This role involves conducting inspections, performing quality control checks, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations such as ISO 9001. The Inspector will create and execute the processes required to ensure our products meet Customer quality requirements. The quality inspector will perform ongoing product and process evaluations, record inspection results and recommend improvements to the production process.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct receiving, in-process and final inspections of various composite aerospace parts
- Perform necessary material inspection upon receipt of composite raw material, and to extend life of such material if needed (Test Lab) along with Weekly Lab Testing requirements
- Part Marking (as needed)
- Perform Daily Particle (Dust) Counts
- Proficient in use and calibration of standard measurement devices
- Assist production personnel on quality concerns and best practices to ensure the highest quality part. Help resolve Quality related issues
- Responsible for quality documentation scanning to the network (Certs, Pack Lists, Travelers, etc.) daily
- Perform other related duties as required
Basic Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of practical experience carrying out inspection for aerospace components
- Proficient in math and technical skills
- Ability to read and write in the English language
- Understanding of quality control standards and specifications
- Proficient in reading and use of detailed drawings, and all established processes including Customer Specifications to verify conformance to customer design requirements
Preferred (but not mandatory) Skills and Experience:
- Familiar with an ERP System
- AS in an Engineering field or equivalent experience
- 5 years of aerospace inspection experience
- Experience working with composite part manufacturing
- Inspection and test experience with composite and/or molded components
- Practical experience working with quality management systems (AS9100, ISO9001, NADCAP)
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to lift a min. of 25 lbs. unassisted
- Must be able to stand for extended periods – 8 hours
- Must be able to work all shift hours, overtime and weekends as needed
ITAR Requirement:
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
