About Aero Inspection & Repair

Aero Inspection & Repair (AIR) is an FAA Part 145 repair station based at Billings Logan International Airport (KBIL) in Billings, Montana. We do inspections, maintenance and repairs out of our own hangar, and we work on a wide range of aircraft, from single-engine pistons up through light and medium jets. If it flies into Billings and needs work, there's a good chance it ends up in our shop.

The Role

We're hiring A&P mechanics at every experience level for full-time, on-site work at our Billings repair station. Whether you are a new A&P or you've spent decades maintaining aircraft, we want to talk to you.

  • Position: Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic, all levels
  • Location: Billings Logan International Airport (KBIL), Billings, MT
  • Type: Full-time, on-site
  • Reports to: General Manager

Newer mechanics will work alongside experienced techs and build skills across a lot of different airframes and engines. Seasoned mechanics will take the lead on complex jobs, troubleshooting and inspections, and help bring the next group along.

What You'll Do

  • Perform scheduled inspections, including annuals, 100-hour and progressive inspections, on piston and turbine aircraft
  • Troubleshoot and repair airframe, powerplant, landing gear, flight control and fuel systems
  • Remove, install and service engines, propellers and components
  • Carry out scheduled maintenance on light and medium jets per manufacturer programs
  • Complete sheet metal and structural repairs
  • Comply with Airworthiness Directives and Service Bulletins
  • Follow AIR's Repair Station Manual, Quality Control Manual and manufacturer maintenance data
  • Keep accurate, complete maintenance records and work order entries
  • Work safely around aircraft on the ramp and in the hangar, and keep the shop clean and organized
  • Communicate clearly with the team about findings, parts needs and job status
  • Travel off-site occasionally for field work when a job calls for it

Requirements

  • Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate
  • Ability to read and follow maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs and technical data
  • Ability to work on-site in Billings, MT
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stands, and work in tight spaces

Plusses (not required)

  • Experience in a Part 145 repair station
  • Turbine engine experience (turboprop or turbofan)
  • Model-specific experience or factory training
  • Avionics, electrical troubleshooting or structures experience
  • Familiarity with maintenance tracking and work order software

Pay and What We Offer

  • Pay is commensurate with your total experience and your model-specific experience. The more time you have, and the more of it is on the types we see in our hangar, the more we pay.
  • Steady, full-time work in a heated hangar
  • A wide variety of aircraft, from pistons to medium jets, so you keep learning
  • A small team where your work is noticed
  • Room to grow into lead, inspection and IA roles
