The Deburr Hand/Machinist role involves working under direct supervision, loading and unloading machines, and conducting in-process inspections of machined products. This requires basic skills in shop math, hand-measuring tools, documentation, and print reading. The position also involves deburring operations, preventative machine maintenance, and area cleanliness.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Buffing, polishing, sanding, and scraping metal parts to remove sharp corners and achieve finish requirements.
- Ability to work independently, follow standard shop procedures, written machine outlines, operation sketch sheets, machine programs, understand simple blueprints, and oral instructions.
- Studies specifications and diagrams to acquire information necessary for setting up and operating machine work centers.
- Cleaning machines daily, removing metal chips, wiping down machines, and cleaning the area after machinery maintenance.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work area, free of trash or accumulated oil and chips.
- Documenting daily totals of parts produced and scrapped on the sketch sheet for each operation, using the bar code collection system to report jobs worked on, parts produced, and status of each operation.
Required Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, machine routings, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read and write English and communicate effectively with the supervisor.
- Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting numbers.
- Familiarity with hand tools, measuring tools, and their proper use.
- Basic knowledge of computers and CNC controls.
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Experience & Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One-year certificate from a college or technical trade school preferred.
- Manufacturing experience a plus.
- 0-2 years of machinist experience ideal.
Job Details:
- Full-time employment.
- $16.50 - $20.00 per hour salary range.
- 40 hours per week expected schedule.
- Benefits package includes 401(k), medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, employee assistance program, company-paid life insurance, and paid time off.
- 10-hour shifts, four days a week (Monday-Thursday).
- Night shift availability required (3pm - 1:30 am) with training on day shift for new hires.
