PURPOSE AND SCOPE

The Inventory Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring that the company's inventory levels are optimized to meet production demands while minimizing costs. This position requires an individual who is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing inventory in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for monitoring inventory levels, maintaining accurate records, and coordinating with various departments to ensure smooth operations. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

1. Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels to ensure that materials and products are available to meet production schedules.

2. Stock Control: Perform regular stock checks, cycle counts, and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy in inventory records. Then assist driving QRCQ problem solving to address root cause.

3. Data Entry: Accurately enter inventory data into the company’s ERP or inventory management system, ensuring timely updates and corrections.

4. Reorder Point Management: Track and manage reorder points to prevent stockouts or overstock situations, working closely with procurement to place orders when necessary.

5. Coordination with Departments: Work with production, procurement, and shipping/receiving departments to ensure timely availability of materials and to address any inventory-related issues.

6. Inventory Reporting: Generate and analyze inventory reports to provide insights on inventory levels, usage trends, and potential issues. This would include prework and postwork of physical inventory

7. Loss Prevention: Identify and investigate inventory discrepancies and losses, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.

8. Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve inventory management processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Role will work closely with inventory and logistics manager on key projects related to strategic initiatives.

9. Compliance: Ensure all inventory activities comply with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.


EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.· 

Experience: 2-4 years of experience in inventory management or a related role, preferably in a manufacturing environment


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Proficiency in outlook and Excel 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate reports.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to preventing issues and addressing conflict


Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move inventory items up to 25lbs, stand, and walk for extended periods as required by the job
