Aero Electronics is a proven manufacturer of military & aerospace cables, harnesses, and electronic assemblies. We specialize in manufacturing cable assemblies as well as braided and molded cables for use in military applications, where our products are used on torpedoes, missiles and aircraft.

Summary:
This is a hands on supervisory role on the production floor. Assigns and coordinates activities of workers engaged in assembling, testing and inspecting of assemblies and subassemblies along with implementing Lean Manufacturing Initiatives. Ideal candidate will be able to assemble harnesses, mentor struggling employees, and help improve quality scores overall.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzes production schedule and assign jobs to line workers needed to meet delivery dates
• Plans work assignments for group on basis of priority and worker skills
• Evaluate worker performance through all stages of wire harness assembly
• Examines product according to knowledge of manufacturing and quality standards to ensure acceptability
• Reviews and compiles operations metrics, such as yield, scrap and maintenance costs
• Reviews work orders, product specifications, technical instructions and facility requirements, requisition tools. Equipment and supplies for section
• Determine root cause of non-conformances and negative trends by analyzing internal /external data and taking the necessary actions with focus on Systemic improvements
• Perform time studies on new builds and when required on legacy assemblies
• Work with engineering to improve process efficiencies
• Work with engineering and quality to create retraining programs for repeat offenders on daily/weekly/monthly metric

Requirements

• Requires strong leadership skills with a team of 70 personnel
• 5 years manufacturing experience in a leadership role
• 3 years soldering experience preferred
• Experience assembling Wire Harnesses preferred
• Working knowledge of productivity tools, including Microsoft Office products and Teams conferencing software
• IPC certifications preferred, will be required to obtain during employment
