Job Description: Quality Assurance Manager
Reports To: CEO
Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring compliance with aviation regulatory, customer, and internal quality requirements for oil cooler manufacturing and repair operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and continuously improve the Quality Management System.
- Ensure compliance with FAA, AS9100, and customer requirements.
- Serve as primary contact for FAA audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections.
- Maintain ITAR compliance, and DER Drug Program .
- Oversee Traceability and First Article Inspection and reporting, testing, and certification activities.
- Design control review and documentation.
- Lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and root cause analysis.
- Review and approve repair certifications and conformity records.
- Train and supervise quality inspectors and technicians.
- Work closely with engineering and manufacturing on quality improvements.
- Customer feedback and complaints
- Co-Ordinates management review meetings.
- Maintain supplier/vendors.
- FAA Drug & DER program responsibility
- Government contract & SAM oversight
- 8130-3 issuance authority
- Production release authority
- Safety and environmental compliance support
- Inventory and calibration system involvement
Regulatory & Compliance Operations
- FAA Drug Program (DER role & coordination)
- SAM (System for Award Management) maintenance
- Direct coordination with FAA FSDO & MIDO
- Government/military contract liaison
Shop-Floor & System Tasks
- Issuing FAA Form 8130-3 (DMIR responsibilities)
- Release for Production authority
- Input parts into inventory system (Quantum)
- In-house hand tool calibration
- Direct FAA communication regarding nonconforming parts
Safety & Facility Support
- Hazardous materials reporting & pickup
- Safety program oversight
- Fire alarm system support
Qualifications
- 4 years of quality experience in aerospace or aviation manufacturing/repair.
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements.
- Experience managing audits and regulatory interactions.
- Leadership and decision-making capability.
Preferred Experience
- MRO environment.
- Hands-on inspection background.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
