Duties
- Lead and supervise the merchandising team to ensure effective product placement, stock replenishment, and visual presentation standards are maintained.
- Oversee inventory management processes, including stock control, ordering, purchasing, and stock rotation to maximize sales opportunities.
- Manage daily store operations such as cash handling, POS (Point of Sale) system usage, cashiering, and customer service to deliver seamless shopping experiences.
- Recruit, interview, train, and develop team members to build a knowledgeable and motivated retail sales team.
- Implement pricing strategies and promotional campaigns aligned with marketing plans to boost sales performance.
- Monitor sales metrics, prepare reports on store performance, and manage budgets to meet financial targets.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, operational procedures, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and employee orientation standards.
Skills
- Proven management experience within the retail industry with a focus on sales team leadership and operational oversight.
- Strong negotiation skills coupled with excellent managerial communication and leadership abilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in inventory control, merchandising techniques, and retail math including basic math skills for daily calculations.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and cashiering operations.
- Ability to recruit, interview, train new employees and foster team development through effective training & development initiatives.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge across various categories such as grocery or wireless sales is advantageous.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively.
