  • Interpret and verify compliance to engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions (dimensions, hole patterns, edge conditions, hardware callouts, finishes, labeling).
  • Inspect for cosmetic quality and fit/finish (scratches, dents, chips, blemishes, color match, alignment, gaps/flushness) and document results to defined acceptance criteria.
  • Verify hardware and assembly requirements (fastener type/length, torque witness/verification where applicable, safetying, correct kits).
  • Confirm material and process requirements (adhesives/sealants, cure/shelf-life, mix/lot traceability, upholstery/cover materials, foam/flammability documentation where applicable).
  • Use precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges) and basic inspection fixtures, record results clearly.

  • Support First Article Inspection (FAI) activities as required (AS9102 format familiarity preferred).
  • Verify traceability of materials and components (lot/batch, C of C, shelf-life, serial numbers where applicable).

  • Assist with internal audits, housekeeping/5S, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Communicate quality issues promptly to production, engineering, and quality leadership; help drive corrective actions.
  • Follow safety, ESD/FOD prevention, and handling requirements for cosmetic and high-visibility interior components.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 years in manufacturing inspection/quality (aerospace interiors preferred).
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and basic GD&T concepts.
  • Comfortable using measurement tools and documenting results accurately.
  • Working knowledge of quality basics: nonconformance control, corrective action support, and document control.
  • Strong attention to detail—especially for cosmetic/fit-and-finish requirements common to lavatories, seating, and window assemblies.
  • Basic computer skills (ERP/MRP, Excel, inspection forms).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an AS9100 environment and aerospace documentation practices.
  • Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection.
  • Experience inspecting any of the following:
    • Lavatory modules/components (doors, latches, hinges, molded panels, plumbing/electrical sub-assemblies where applicable)
    • Seating components (tracks/brackets, seat pans, shrouds, armrests, cushions/covers)
    • Window systems (shades, bezels/reveals, liners, trim)
  • Understanding of FOD prevention, torque verification, and configuration management.

Skills & Competencies

  • Detail-oriented, methodical, and consistent
  • Clear written documentation and professional communication
  • Ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision
