Position Overview
The Scientist III will conduct routine and non-routine cellular assays to support in vitro assay development. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistency in assay execution, and the ability to independently design, interpret, and troubleshoot experiments. The candidate will contribute to both routine and exploratory studies, operate laboratory equipment independently, and ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and non-routine in vitro cellular assays with minimal supervision.
- Interpret experimental outcomes and propose appropriate follow-up actions.
- Assist in designing and executing exploratory experiments in cell-based and biochemical assays.
- Apply scientific principles for study design, data analysis, and interpretation.
- Conduct literature searches and extract relevant information from published protocols.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment independently; troubleshoot effectively.
- Document work in electronic lab notebooks with accuracy and integrity.
- Contribute to writing protocols, procedures, and technical reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, SOPs, and company policies.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in aseptic cell culture techniques.
- Strong background in molecular biology techniques: nucleic acid extraction, RT-PCR, Western Blot, ELISA.
- Experience in in vitro cellular assay execution and assay development.
- Familiarity with non-viral in vitro gene delivery techniques and cell-based imaging (preferred).
- Strong problem-solving ability and agile learning style.
- Ability to design, execute, and interpret non-routine experiments independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for concise reporting.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (Microsoft Excel, GraphPad Prism).
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Education
- Master’s degree in a related scientific discipline (Computer Science, Genomics, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics preferred) with 1 years of experience, OR
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of experience.
