We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse to work at a Correctional Facility in California City, California.
Assignment Details:
- Location: California City, California
- Facility: California City Correctional Center
- Setting: Corrections
- Contract: 13 weeks, extensions available
- Shift: 12 Hour Days or Night Shifts Available
- Schedule: Alternating 36/48 hour weeks
- Pay: STARTING AT $2053/week - 36 hours - (based on experience and contract rates)
Minimum Qualifications:
- No local candidates accepted at this time, candidate must hold permanent address at least 70 miles away from the facility
- Graduate from an accredited college, university or nursing program with a degree/diploma in nursing.
- Must possess current state or compact RN licensure.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver comprehensive nursing care in accordance with Licensed Independent Provider (LIP) orders.
- Administer and dispense medications and assist LIPs during examinations and treatments.
- Apply appropriate nursing and supervisory techniques in the care, treatment, and referral of inmates/residents.
- Perform all clinical and technical procedures within the scope of licensure and education.
- Conduct sick call with the physician, prepare patient lists, and set up examination rooms and equipment.
- Manage pill call, including medication administration and required documentation.
- Communicate with LIPs regarding medication orders, treatment directives, and emergencies.
- Assess and triage new or ill/injured inmates/residents and arrange referrals to emergency or outside healthcare facilities as needed.
- Perform emergency procedures and obtain treatment orders from LIPs promptly.
- Coordinate medical services provided by contract personnel and ensure operational support for care delivery.
