Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Local Flatbed/Moffet driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating flatbed trucks and Moffet forklifts to transport freight within local areas. Your expertise in handling various types of freight, including refrigerated trailers, tanker loads, and flatbed cargo, will ensure timely deliveries and efficient load management. Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed trucks, Moffet forklifts, and other commercial vehicles to deliver freight within designated local routes.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts, roll-off trucks, or dump trucks, ensuring proper securing of loads.
- Drive tractor-trailers with manual transmissions, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Manage freight handling for various types of loads including refrigerated trailers, tankers, and general cargo.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to maintain safety standards.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with flatbed or tanker loads.
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and operating forklift equipment such as Moffet forklifts.
- Experience in load & unload procedures for freight including refrigerated trailers and roll-off trucks.
- Ability to handle various types of freight safely and efficiently while maintaining compliance with safety regulations.
- Strong knowledge of local routes, traffic laws, and safety protocols related to commercial driving.
