What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tooling Design Engineer position at Aegis Worldwide?
Aegis is seeking a Tooling Design Engineer to join our client's organization in Dekalb, IL. The ideal candidate has the following skills and experience:
- 2 years of experience working as a tooling design engineer
- Industry; can vary- the principles for this role are centered around design work. They will be working with plastic products. But, keep an eye out for metal, steel, rubber or other polymers as well.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software.
- Experience translating packaging drawings and samples into 3D design software
- Experience with BOM
- Experience putting those designs into thermoforming ready designs
- Experience with prototyping the designs and validation of the product
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, production, and quality teams.
- Customer facing experience – will be working with the sales team mainly but could communicate with customers as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Hands on and detail-oriented individual.
Nice to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering.
- Knowledge of thin-gauge plastics (PVC, PET, RPET, HIPS, etc)
- Vacuum/pressure forming principle experience
- Any cnc knowledge, programming experience
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
