We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer to join a growing industrial organization in a newly created role. This position will have an immediate and meaningful impact by taking ownership of the creation, organization, and ongoing maintenance of quality and process documentation across the business.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys producing clear, accurate documentation and wants to play a key role in building and improving a company’s Quality Management System from the ground up.Key Responsibilities:Create, review, format, and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) documentation in alignment with ISO 9001 standardsDevelop and update SOPs, procedures, work instructions, forms, and recordsManage document and record control, including revisions, approvals, distribution, and effective datesCoordinate documentation changes with process owners and leadershipEnsure documentation aligns with regulatory requirements and internal policiesSupport internal and external audits by providing controlled documents and objective evidenceAssist with training employees on proper document usageIdentify opportunities to improve clarity, consistency, and usability of documentationSupport additional quality-related initiatives as neededMust-Have Qualifications:1 year of technical writing or documentation experienceStrong written communication skills with excellent grammar and attention to detailAbility to produce accurate, consistent documentation efficientlyFamiliarity with revision control, change management, and records retentionProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and auditorsPositive, proactive mindset with a “do it right the first time” approachPreferred Qualifications (Nice to Have):Associate’s or Bachelor’s degreeExperience in a manufacturing or regulated environmentBackground in quality, documentation, or technical writingWhy This Role:Newly created position with high visibility and ownershipOpportunity to build and modernize documentation processesJoin a fast-growing organization supporting large-scale industrial and data center projectsStable daytime schedule with contract-to-hire potentialLocation: Itasca, ILSchedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PMPay Rate: $20–$25/hourEmployment Type: Contract-to-Hire (6 months)
