Position Summary:
Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a manufacturer in the Brownsburg, IN area who is seeking a highly skilled Supplier Industrial Engineer. This person will collaborate with both domestic and international suppliers—particularly those in Mandarin-speaking regions—to ensure they are prepared, capable, and performing effectively to support a new manufacturing facility. The role centers on assessing supplier processes, guiding industrialization efforts, enhancing quality and efficiency, and facilitating technical communication between suppliers and U.S.-based engineering and operations teams.
Must Haves:
- Fluency in both Mandarin and English, with strong spoken and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–7 years of experience in supplier quality, industrial engineering, or manufacturing engineering roles.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and Lean principles.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, process flows, and tolerance requirements.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 30–50%.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary technical bridge between U.S. operations teams and suppliers in Mandarin-speaking regions.
- Conduct on-site supplier visits to assess readiness for new tooling, equipment, production lines, and ramp-up activities.
- Evaluate supplier manufacturing processes, capacity, quality systems, and overall preparedness for mass production.
- Support NPI, PPAP, and broader industrialization efforts to ensure smooth product launches.
- Lead process capability studies, PFMEAs, line layout reviews, process audits, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track supplier KPIs—including quality, delivery performance, and cost drivers—and identify areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot supplier-related issues and drive effective corrective actions using root-cause analysis and 8D methodologies.
- Manage the exchange of technical documents, drawings, specifications, and revisions between U.S. and supplier teams in both languages.
- Ensure suppliers meet required start-up schedules and ramp-up milestones to align with plant production needs.
