Production Superintendent – Metal Fabrication | Libertyville, IL
A fast-growing, privately backed manufacturer in the metal fabrication industry is looking for a Production Superintendent to step into a pivotal leadership role at their Libertyville, IL facility.

What You'll Do:
Lead and coach a team of 5 Production Supervisors across 3 shifts and approximately 90 union production employees.
Spend roughly 60% of your time on the floor, developing your team and improving processes.
Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement while supporting plant upgrades and reinvestment initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional leaders in operations, sales, engineering, and HR to execute on strategic goals.
Be a mentor and change agent—this team needs someone who can lead with empathy, raise expectations, and elevate plant culture.
What We're Looking For:
5 years of plant leadership experience in discrete manufacturing—metal fabrication experience preferred.
Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, OEE, 5S, 8D, and other continuous improvement tools.
Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop production teams in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
Experience working in a union environment is strongly preferred.
Bilingual in Spanish is a big plus, as is familiarity with stamping, perforated metal, or grating products.
Bonus points for ISO9001/AS9100 experience and formal OSHA or lean certifications.
Compensation & Perks:
Base Salary: $90,000–$110,000
10% bonus $75/month phone stipend
Full benefits package
Day shift (typically 6:00 AM–3:00 PM or 7 - 4 or 8 - 5) with rare Saturday OT
