Position Summary:
Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a manufacturer in the Lafayette, IN area who is seeking a Cost Accountant who will ensure the costs of the company’s products and services are assigned in line with internal policies and follow established financial accounting standards.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- Accounting experience within a manufacturing environment
Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate changes in product design, materials, manufacturing processes, or services to assess customer and product margins.
- Review actual manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production, using key cost drivers and metrics.
- Maintain and record cost data to support expense control.
- Analyze and reconcile the COGS ledger to ensure accurate month-end close.
- Conduct variance analysis, identify issues or opportunities, and communicate findings to operations management.
- Establish and maintain policies and procedures for cost accounting activities.
- Lead, coordinate, and oversee all cost accounting activities.
- Manage daily operations of the cost accounting function, including rate management, inventory, and monthly COGS close and analysis.
- Supervise ERP integrations, migrations, and system upgrades.
- Guide and coordinate the collection of standard cost rates.
- Oversee inventory forecasting and manage monthly and annual physical stock counts.
- Analyze and communicate the impact of rate changes on inventory.
Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
