What You'll Do
- Develop mechanical components such as frames, drives, pulleys, idlers, and tensioning systems using CAD tools.
- Customize solutions based on client specifications, load requirements, and environmental conditions.
- Select appropriate materials and components for durability and performance.
- Perform FEA simulations to validate design integrity under dynamic and static loads.
- Conduct load calculations, torque analysis, and structural assessments.
- Oversee prototype fabrication and coordinate in-house or field testing.
- Analyze test results and iterate designs to meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and other relevant safety standards.
- Manage design projects from concept through production.
- Track project timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Create detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives for existing products.

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered as a substitute for education.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in conveyor systems or material handling equipment.
- Proficiency in parametric 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo, etc).
- Configure and customize PLM/PDM tools to meet business requirements
- ERP/MRP software proficiency (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
- Knowledge of drive systems (motors, gearboxes, VFDs), bearings, and structural steel design.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including welding, sheet metal fabrication, and machining.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Windows operating system environment with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, Project etc.)
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and effectively both in writing and verbally
- Willingness to travel for troubleshooting related activities.
