What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specimen Collection Support Lead position at Aegis Sciences Corporation?
The Specimen Collection Support Lead will work closely with Aegis Healthcare Clients, Specimen
Collectors, Sales and Management and travel to multiple locations to Specimen Collectors in their
assigned territory. He or she will on-board specimen collectors, conduct training, and ensure assigned
SC’s are up to date on all processes and procedures. He or she will also perform designated tasks and
attend meetings, ensure site coverage, and support new client setup.
The Specimen Collection Support Lead will also collect biological specimens at client sites as needed.
Collection duties will include maintaining the integrity of the collection process, maintaining records for
reporting purposes, obtaining initial insurance verification information for billing purposes, and
packaging the specimens for shipment. He or she will also utilize and support FLUID (ELR – Electronic Lab
Requisition) adoption as well as train clients and other team members on the process and
implementation.
He or she will also assist with reporting client and SC concerns, maintain alignment with sales, collection,
and management teams, coordinate equipment needs in the field, perform SC monitoring, track SC
activities, and address compliance and training gaps.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and lead assigned Specimen Collectors
- Serve as liaison between RSM, SC Manager, and client to maintain alignment
- Travel to clinics in territory to address SC and client needs
- Foster open communication between the customer, Sales, and SC Management
- Onboard and train Collection Team (Specimen Collectors, Field Service Coordinators, etc.);
- report training gaps
- Increase touch base meetings with new clients as well as train clients on Aegis processes and
- Document Apollo requests to the SC Manager for access and coverage as required
- Ensure the integrity of each Laboratory Request Form and specimen sample
- Keep records of samples shipped and shipping information associated with each
- Retrieve results via the Aegis Web Portal and deliver to client(s) as appropriate
- Follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sample collection
- Utilize Electronic Lab Requisitions (ELR) “FLUID” for sample submissions
- Answer questions from client/patients regarding Aegis policies
- Complete and maintain required Compliance Training
- Comply with all applicable safety requirements including the use of personal protective
- equipment (PPE)
- Order supplies and manage budget with RSM, SC Manager and ASM as required
- Collaborate with IT and SC Manager to resolve field-related issues
- Participate in process improvements, including process definition, measurement analysis, and
- implementation of controls
- Review overtime hours and monitor compliance with scope of role standards
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill
- Coordinate MOTUS communications and follow-up actions
- Identify potential remote processing opportunities and processes to enhance efficiency
- Other duties as required and assigned
- High school diploma or GED required
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Field Services Coordinator/Specimen Collector at
- Aegis OR a minimum of two (2) years of external experience collecting and/or coordinating
- biological samples
- A minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated leadership experience, which may include
- mentoring, training, coordinating team activities, or leading projects, even in the absence of
- formal direct management responsibilities
- Valid driver’s license required (must meet insurability requirements) and ability to travel
- Excellent communication, professionalism, and organizational skills
- Ability to interact and adapt with all levels of team members
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines and prioritizing workload
- Ability to use good judgment and work independently
- Ability to handle multiple tasks without sacrificing quality

- The Specimen Collection Support Lead will travel extensively. He or she will perform his or her work in a
- clinic environment and may be exposed to blood, oral fluids, or urine specimens. Aegis provides
- personal protective equipment to its team members for use within the clinic environment.
