Lead Business Analyst

Aegis seeks to hire a Lead Business Analyst to join a department that provides analytics research and services to external customers. The successful candidate will report to an Aegis physical location in Tyson’s Corner, VA, or Mobile, AL. Both in-office and hybrid working arrangements may be considered.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically strong Lead Business Analyst to contribute to and create advanced data-focused solutions supporting our global telecommunications clients. In this role, you will initially oversee one analyst and serve as the primary point of contact for the client, delivering insights derived from open-source competitive intelligence related to the secondhand mobile device market.

As a member of the Data Intelligence Department the ideal candidate will oversee all analysis deliverables, work with Product Management to enhance software solutions, lead weekly meetings with senior-level stakeholders, and mentor junior staff to expand our capabilities. This is a position requiring focus and flexibility, independence, effective organizational skills, and a willingness to improvise when crafting novel solutions.

This role requires exceptional ability to navigate a high-touch client relationship with professionalism and composure. The client frequently reaches out throughout the week with questions related to their data, competitive insights, and broader monetization strategy. The Lead must be adept at managing expectations, responding promptly and thoughtfully to inquiries, and maintaining clear boundaries while preserving a positive, service-oriented rapport. Success in this role depends on strong emotional intelligence, proactive communication, and the ability to translate client needs into actionable direction for the internal analyst while keeping engagement running smoothly.

Key responsibilities:

· Client Engagement:

o Serve as the primary liaison to the client, a major telecom company

o Lead meetings with the client to present findings, insights, and recommendations

o Translate complex analytical results into clear, actionable presentations

· Project oversight and coordination:

o Manage day-to-day workflow for a small team, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of insights and reporting

o Coordinate project timelines, deliverables, and quality standards

o Perform analysis as needed by the client

o Explore and analyze data proactively to create new opportunities for the client

o Oversee software tool operation continuity day-to-day, working with the client to execute strategy and rule changes that adapt to marketplace settings

· Competitive Intelligence:

o Oversee the collection, synthesis, and interpretation of open-source competitive intelligence related to the global secondhand mobile device market

o Review and validate the analyst team’s findings to ensure accuracy, relevancy, and completeness

· Process & Software Development

o Work closely with the Product Management Department to fulfill client software requirements

o Ensure deliverables meet client expectations and internal quality standards

o Identify risks, issues, and process inefficiencies, recommending solutions as needed

Basic Qualifications:

· 4-5 years of experience in analysis and project management

· Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Business Administration, Sociology, Economics, Operations Research, Psychology), or a related field

· Strong analytical skills and experience working with data-driven insights

· Familiarity with software development practices and business requirements

· Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex findings to senior executives

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

· Agility in prioritizing and organizing tasks in a fast-paced business environment

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with SQL

· Experience with Power BI or Tableau

· Familiarity with Azure, Databricks, or similar environments

· Understanding of data governance and PII data handling

· Experience working with open-source competitive intelligence, market analysis, or telecommunications markets is a plus
