From your morning walk-through with operations to your afternoon ROI review, you’ll blend hands-on engineering with strategic project leadership. As a seasoned mechanical engineer in a process or chemical manufacturing setting, you’ll elevate equipment performance, strengthen reliability, and champion safe, compliant processes.
Compensation & Travel- Salary Range: $110,000 – $130,000 (based on experience, education, certifications, and skills)
- Travel: Up to 25%
- Lead cross-functional facility and manufacturing improvements—from scoping and budgeting to ROI modeling and execution.
- Design, test, and iterate on new and existing mechanical systems to drive efficiency and uptime.
- Partner with maintenance and production to troubleshoot mechanical, motion, and hydraulic issues; provide pragmatic fixes that stick.
- Apply continuous improvement and root-cause analysis to eliminate chronic losses and prevent recurrence.
- Verify products, systems, and processes meet all relevant codes and standards.
- Build and support capital project documentation using TPM tools and the six-step management methodology.
- Train teams on new equipment and processes so changes are adopted safely and effectively.
- Communicate project status clearly to stakeholders with cadence-based updates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 10 years in industry, ideally within chemical or process manufacturing.
- High proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical, mechanical, and architectural drawings.
- Advanced troubleshooting of mechanical, motion, and hydraulic systems.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation devices, and PLCs for basic troubleshooting.
- Proven track record delivering results with cross-functional partners.
- 3D modeling experience (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Navisworks).
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Background in chemical manufacturing.
