Maintenance Technican

Job Title: 1st Shift Maintenance TechnicianLocation: Bedford Park, ILAbout the Role:We are seeking a skilled 1st Shift Maintenance Technician to join a non-union maintenance team. This is a hands-on, multicraft role responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of equipment across the production facility. The position involves both mechanical and electrical maintenance, with a focus of approximately 70% mechanical and 30% electrical work.The Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for documenting maintenance tasks and assisting with preventative maintenance (PM) to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working across multiple trades and taking ownership of facility equipment.Key Responsibilities:Perform installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.Maintain and repair equipment such as conveyors, pumps, motors, pneumatics, hydraulics, and other production machinery.Troubleshoot electrical issues, including systems up to 480V, and assist with basic PLC troubleshooting.Enter maintenance tasks and updates into computer systems.Assist with preventative maintenance planning and execution to reduce downtime.Collaborate with other team members to prioritize work and maintain equipment reliability.Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols in all maintenance activities.Required Qualifications:3–5 years of experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance (flexible for the right candidate).Strong experience with mechanical systems, including pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, pumps, and motors.Electrical troubleshooting experience up to 480V.Basic understanding of PLC troubleshooting.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in the coating or paint industry.Experience maintaining a preventative maintenance (PM) schedule.Experience with cutting equipment, welders, robots, coating/painting machinery, or packaging machinery.Work Environment:First shift position with hands-on maintenance responsibilities.Non-union, collaborative team environment.Opportunity to work on a wide range of industrial equipment in a dynamic manufacturing setting.Why This Role:Multicraft, hands-on maintenance role with opportunities to grow skills across both mechanical and electrical systems.Supportive environment with focus on safety, efficiency, and teamwork.You should be proficient in:PLC Troubleshooting SkillsMechanical Troubleshooting Skills120/208/240/480 Voltage SystemsElectrical TroubleshootingPLC Wiring ExperiencePneumatics TroubleshootingMaintenance and Repair SkillsMachines & technologies you'll use:Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)Conveyor SystemsServo Motors
