Aegis is partnered with a manufacturer in Addison, IL that is hiring an Electrical Design Engineer to design custom low-voltage switchgear and power distribution equipment. This is a hands-on role working directly with production, purchasing, and mechanical engineering to support builds and troubleshoot issues. Responsibilities Create single-line, three-line, and control schematics.Prepare detailed wiring diagrams, interconnection drawings, and BOMs.Ensure compliance with NEC, UL, IEEE, and ANSI standards.Support the shop floor on wiring, mounting, and design-related questions.Assist with component selection, breaker sizing, and cable calculations.Participate in continuous improvement and R&D initiatives. Requirements Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering OR Associate’s in Electrical Engineering Technology.3 years of electrical design experience.2 years working for a switchgear or electrical enclosure manufacturer.Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.Strong understanding of power distribution and control circuits.Ability to read, create, and revise wiring diagrams and schematics.
