Position Summary:
The Velodrome Sports Center Guest Service Representative is a part-time role responsible for providing an excellent guest experience for all guests of the VELO Sports Center. The incumbent monitors entry to the venue and provides programming and facility information, handles guest inquiries, and helps in receiving, up-selling VELO Sports Center programming, merchandise, events, and collecting payments.
Essential Functions:
- Provide excellent customer service by welcoming guest to the venue, being knowledgeable of venue layout, programs, events, and policies.
- Act as the first point of contact for guest inquiries and client issues over the phone, in person and via email. Escalating to supervisor when necessary.
- Assists supervisors in registering customers for programs, events, booking court and/or track rentals, and upselling VELO Sports Center merchandise when possible
- Knowledge of all facility protocols to help ensure guests are safely following protocols while inside the facility. Reporting any injury or unsafe area to supervisors.
- Maintain VELO lobby and surrounding work areas clean and clutter free.
- Ability to help setup or breakdown volleyball, basketball and pickleball equipment as necessary.
- Routinely work with National federations, club organizations to assists with their needs (i.e. US National Cycling Team and US Para Cycling).
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency
- A minimum of 0-2 years of related work experience preferably in the sports/entertainment venue environment.
- Must be able to work evenings and are required to be available to work all weekends and holiday.
- Must be able to stand consistently for a minimum of 8 hours and withstand various weather elements such as high temperatures and rain.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs.
- Ability to operate basic office equipment and have working knowledge of computer operations including but not limited to MS Office and other business systems.
Payscale: $20.48
Bonus: This position is not eligible for a bonus under the current bonus plan requirements.
Benefits: This position may be eligible for benefits (ACA qualification).
