The incumbent for this role will be expected to travel frequently across the U.S., including to our Xtreme headquarters in Port Huron, Michigan.
- Accountable for leading strategic business development activities for Xtreme, formulating solutions to address customer challenges while also pursuing opportunities with new and existing clients
- Develop and implement a strategy to grow and enhance Xtreme’s footprint and capabilities in the U.S. market
- Establish and maintain effective contact with clients, including post award contact. Identify new work leads and manage lead follow-up
- Proactively understands client strategies, objectives, programs and solicitations.
- Understands most contract terms and assists in negotiating key terms with partners, subcontractors, and subconsultants.
- Participate in the development of long-term strategy for Xtreme in the U.S. market
- Promotes Xtreme’s brand in the U.S. market
- Proven leadership, business development and construction experience in the electrical distribution industry in the U.S.
- Experience with Public and Private Utilities (including Municipalities and Cooperates) and Authorities
- Strong connections, relationships and professional presence in the industry with clients
- Highly developed communication skills, both written and oral with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, public officials, team, peers and the general public
- Strong understanding of the drivers in the industry in the U.S. (i.e. business trends, regulatory, economic, and political)
- Experience in assessing and negotiating contracts
- Commercial knowledge, solid understanding of the risks in contract terms
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a strategic mindset and problem-solving ability.
- A strong commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse workplace.
- Ability to travel extensively across the U.S.
