Job Description
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic professional to provide Sales and Growth Leadership for our Environmental Planning & Permitting (EPP) practice for the U.S. East region.
Our EPP Practice . By anticipating and addressing permit requirements early in project design, we help implement permitting strategy, schedule, and mitigation plans that expedite permit acquisition and compliance. Our expert regulatory negotiations throughout the project lifecycle help resolve technical issues and develop favorable permit conditions while maintaining project schedules and ensuring compliance. We resolve impact assessment and permitting needs associated with air quality, water, wetlands, cultural issues, public health, and stakeholder concerns across a wide range of federal, state, and local programs and requirements for numerous energy, industrial, waste disposal, utilities, and developer clients worldwide.
The EPP Practice Sales Leader , as part of an integrated Sales/Growth Team reporting to the Region Sales/Growth Director , is predominately responsible for (1) developing and implementing growth strategies; (2) planning and executing capture for business opportunities; and (3) setting and tracking progress against growth KPIs within the EPP Practice.
The EPP Practice Sales Leader will be responsible for identifying the resources needed to pursue business opportunities, proposal capture strategies, building value propositions, overseeing bid strategies, commercial strategy development, proposal development, interview preparation, supporting negotiations, and teaming.
Additionally, the EPP Practice Sales Leader will also support client account managers, Environment Business Line and Regional leadership.
Primary KPIs include meeting established Practice Bookings/Sales Goals, capture rate targets, and expanding service offerings and accounts in the Practice portfolio.
Main Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Development and implementation of growth, sales, and marketing strategy for the practice and region.
- Capitalize on existing professional network to establish and expand key account relationships, grow client accounts, and provide new business opportunities.
- Lead, coach and mentor Capture Managers, Client Account Managers, and other resources to facilitate professional development and business growth.
- Provide insight on practice and market conditions for growth strategy development.
- Plan, manage, and implement specific capture strategies:
- Support and participate in Go/No-Go decisions.
- Select and assign capture team members/resources.
- Oversee bid strategies, pricing, teaming, and proposal strategies; and manage the transition from business opportunity to proposal development to award.
- Ensure that the pursuit is getting the proper attention, priority, and funding as well as identify the pursuit team with defined roles.
- Support legal, risk and contract reviews.
- Oversee Readiness to Win process including presentations with the senior leadership and Office of Growth, as required.
- Develop, in cooperation with the team, proposal themes and messages, including differentiators and innovation.
- Assist in setting proposal pricing based on scope, duration, and skills required.
- Work in partnership with marketing on "AECOM" branded proposals, interview presentations and other marketing materials.
- Support the Sales Director with strategic planning and execution.
- Support lessons learned and debrief of customer feedback.
- Lead client listening efforts to understand client needs and business objectives.
- For pursuits supporting; maintain accuracy of the opportunity data within Salesforce CRM.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership
- US Citizenship is required
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate Environmental Related field (Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Engineering).
- 10 years of successful business development/sales/growth experience in the public or private sectors, demonstrating ability to win new business opportunities.
- Strong organizational skills and results orientation, successfully achieving/exceeding sales and other financial KPIs. Experience driving diversified accounts; proposal development, strategic pricing and execution under various business models.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to build and maintain long- term partner and customer relationships related to role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills related to specific role.
- Demonstrated analytical, reasoning, planning and problem-solving abilities. A high level of self-motivation and flexibility. Experience in environmental permitting, planning, or natural or cultural resource management.
- Excellent time-management, organizational and record-keeping skills. Energy, enthusiasm and a team-focused mentality with proven abilities to work collaboratively and think strategically.
- Ability to perform and deliver under tight deadlines. Demonstrated skills in communicating technical information to non-technical and technical customers, as well as how core technologies translate into customers' critical capabilities.
- A drive to win, but the ability to learn from loss to influence the next pursuit.

Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (NYC locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $170,000 - $230,000.
