Responsibilities
• Owns training centers for across locations (Lexington, Louisville Sales, Louisville Parts/Warehouse)
• Responsible for developing the schedule of training, curriculum, and programming.
• Manage training room readiness and the full class experience: setup/teardown, cleanliness, A/V, signage, materials, supplies, food, and facility coordination.
• Maintain accurate training records and documentation.
• Maintain training equipment, demo units, and consumables; coordinate repairs/replacement as needed.
• Manage training center calendar governance, capacity planning, and utilization reporting.
• Partner with equipment manufacturers and vendors to schedule factory training, product launches, and certification courses.
• Serve as training subject matter expert for recommended manufacturing training and curriculum.
• Coordinate technical training to both internal employees and external customers.
• Ability to seek out and enlist SMEs to conduct training
• Work with department leaders to manage usage, develop schedule and ideas for training.
• Assist in the development of training materials including manuals, modules, and SOP.
Customer Training (Revenue Experience)
• Coordinate customer training offerings, pricing inputs, and billing/invoicing in partnership with Finance
• Need to be able to promote and have active outreach to customers to market training and create excitement about training.
• Collaborates with customers to meet their technical training challenges in a way that promotes the AEC brand and value proposition.
Sales & Professional Development
• Partner with Engineering, Senior Sales, Leadership and manufacturers to integrate proprietary product training.
• Works with HR Learning & Development to conduct sales enablement training.
Technician Development
• Support apprenticeship, mentorship, and career-pathing programs to develop technicians at all experiences levels.
• Track technician skill progression and recommend targeted training based on performance gaps.
• Coordinate and track required certifications and licenses (e.g., EPA 608, OSHA, Journeyman, etc.)
• Collaborate with service and operations leaders to align training with business needs, KPIs, and customer service goals.
• Develop and manage a Train-the-Trainer program to equip internal SMEs to deliver consistent, high-quality instruction.
The Ideal Profile
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Education, or Learning & development preferred
• 7-10 years of experience in the HVAC industry (service, installation, controls, or technical support) preferred
• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering technical training curricula in HVAC, engineering, manufacturing, or construction-related environments.
• Proven success rolling out training programs and presenting to large employee populations.
• Strong working knowledge of the commercial HVAC industry required.
• Experience managing training logistics, facilities, scheduling, and multi-stakeholder coordination.
