In this role, you’ll lead the design of municipal and transportation projects across the region, working closely with clients, agencies, and internal teams to deliver public infrastructure that makes a lasting impact. You’ll guide technical design, mentor project teams, and bring forward creative solutions that balance engineering precision with community needs.
This role is available on a hybrid schedule with flexibility for remote work from select Midwest states.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design and delivery of municipal, roadway, and transportation infrastructure projects for both public and private clients.
- Mentor and collaborate with engineers and technicians, fostering knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
- Engage with clients, stakeholders, and public agencies, representing the firm in meetings, presentations, and community discussions.
- Oversee project documentation, including plans, specifications, and reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage quality assurance and quality control processes across projects, upholding firm standards of technical rigor and design excellence.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including water resources, structural, and survey professionals to deliver integrated project outcomes.
- Contribute to business growth, supporting proposals, client development, and process improvement initiatives.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- At least 4 years of design experience in roadway, transportation, or municipal engineering.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, GEOPAK, or OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
- Experience collaborating with state DOTs, counties, or municipalities is a plus.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure in Minnesota (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
