Responsibilities
- Safely handle and restrain lemurs using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators and gloves to ensure both animal and personal safety.
- Assist with construction painting surface preparation and coating applications to maintain enclosures, utilizing skills in powder coating, conventional spraying, airless paint spraying, and industrial painting techniques.
- Operate forklifts, cranes, power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment to support habitat modifications or maintenance projects.
- Interpret production documents related to habitat design or enrichment features to ensure precise implementation aligned with quality standards in production.
- Conduct visual color comparisons and use precision measuring instruments to verify enclosure conditions meet safety and aesthetic standards.
- Handle materials efficiently within warehouse environments, ensuring proper materials handling procedures are followed during construction or renovation tasks.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols including respiratory protection and PPE use during all activities involving chemicals or mechanical equipment.
- Support lean manufacturing principles by maintaining organized workspaces and optimizing workflow efficiency during habitat setup or maintenance tasks.
Skills
- Proficiency with forklift operation, crane usage, power tools, hand tools, machining equipment, and spray guns such as coating spray guns and airless paint sprayers.
- Strong understanding of quality standards in production environments, especially related to industrial painting, coating application, and finishing processes.
- Ability to interpret complex production documents accurately for habitat construction or refurbishment projects.
- Mechanical knowledge including familiarity with powder coating processes, construction painting surface preparation, auto painting techniques, and industrial painting methods.
- Experience with materials handling within warehouse settings; knowledge of safety protocol adherence including PPE use such as respirators and respiratory protection gear.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations essential during installation or maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with visual color comparison techniques critical for ensuring aesthetic consistency in enclosure finishes.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency during habitat assembly or repair activities.
