Responsibilities
- Places large truck equipment components in place as specified.
- Reads computer job orders, and job specifications and lays out plans for work procedures.
- Operates shop machines.
- Installs units such as welds, electrical components, bolts, and hydraulics on various areas of the truck.
- Drives commercial vehicles in and out of the shop as well as test-drives said vehicles as needed.
- Modify equipment, attachments, hydraulic systems, and other devices according to blueprints.
- Troubleshoots for repairs.
- Performs function tests when finished.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to read and execute instructions as found on blueprints.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Welding experience is a plus, not required.
- Mechanical experience is a plus.
