Electrical Project Engineer - Denver, CO
The Electrical Engineer will work on various electrical design projects as assigned by Project Managers and the Electrical Division Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the over-all electrical design process on various projects, including water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and collection, municipal systems, process industrial facilities, power generation, power distribution, lighting, instrumentation/controls, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).

The Electrical Engineer will work on various electrical design projects as assigned by Project Managers and the Electrical Division Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for the over-all electrical design process on various projects, including water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and collection, municipal systems, process industrial facilities, power generation, power distribution, lighting, instrumentation/controls, and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
Responsibilities
- Provide professional electrical engineering services for projects including planning, studies, design, bidding and construction administration
- Manage performance of assigned project team members
- Maintain existing client relationships and enhance pursued relationships with clients
- Identify, evaluate, pursue, and manage project opportunities
- Provide quality control and quality assurance on all project work
- Maintain budgets and schedules of project assignments
- Coordinate, facilitate, and attend internal and external meetings
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- 4 years of electrical system design experience in the water/wastewater or similar industrial facility areas
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development
- Ability to work remotely and manage projects, clients, and project team members
- Knowledge of electrical systems including electrical distribution, lighting, and special systems
- Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems including instruments, fiber optics, computers, radios, Ethernet networks and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
- Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 7 years of experience in water and/or wastewater treatment
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of project financials
- Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
- May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
- May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
- May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
