Responsibilities
Using your background as a water engineer, you will be a project manager for drinking water related projects. Help navigate the project through its entire cycle.
- Serve as Project Manager for drinking water and water infrastructure projects, guiding work through the full project lifecycle
- Provide professional water engineering services including planning, studies, design, and construction administration
- Lead and manage project teams, including Project Engineers, Engineers in Training (EITs), and Technicians
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, supporting both existing and new project opportunities
- Identify, pursue, and manage water project opportunities aligned with client and organizational goals
- Ensure quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) on all project deliverables
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to support successful outcomes
- Coordinate and participate in internal and external meetings with clients, stakeholders, and team members
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to support team growth and development
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, chemical or environmental engineering or related field
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in Utah or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 8 years consulting experience in water
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities and business development
- Ability to work remotely and manage projects, clients, and project team members
- Prior project management experience
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
- Master’s degree in civil engineering or related field
- 10 years consulting experience for municipal water/wastewater systems
- Proven client relationships
- Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
- May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
- May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
- May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
