Join our team for Summer 2026 as a Structural Engineer Intern and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers and project managers. You’ll contribute to real projects such as schools, water treatment plants, universities, environmental structures, and develop your technical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with structural analysis and design calculations under supervision of licensed engineers.
- Help draft and review drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals.
- Lead construction observation and site reports on inter-discipline projects.
- Assist with tasks including data entry, filing and scanning, record entry, and miscellaneous administrative responsibilities.
- Review construction submittals for conformance with project plans and specs.
- Completion of at least one semester towards a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Ability to travel as required
- Completion of at least 4 semesters towards a bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Experience using Revit and/or AutoCAD for design production
- Experience using structural design software such as RAM, RISA, Enercalc, Mathcad or others.
- Active involvement in campus organizations and/or volunteer groups
- Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
- May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
- May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
- May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
