As a Senior Industrial Wastewater Process Engineer, you'll lead innovative projects that help clients improve treatment performance, maintain compliance, reduce risk, and support critical operations. Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, commissioning, and optimization of industrial wastewater collection and treatment systems, helping manufacturers solve complex water quality, compliance, and operational challenges
- Serve as the process technical lead on multidisciplinary projects, guiding treatment technology selection, hydraulics, utility integration, and overall system performance
- Develop innovative treatment solutions through treatability studies, process modeling, mass balances, hydraulic evaluations, and pilot testing to support informed client decisions
- Partner with industrial clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders to navigate permitting requirements, maintain environmental compliance, and deliver practical, implementation-ready solutions
- Direct technical teams in preparing treatment alternatives, cost estimates, construction documents, operating procedures, and other project deliverables from concept through startup
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients by troubleshooting existing systems, identifying opportunities for optimization, and supporting business development through proposals, presentations, and strategic project planning
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental, chemical, or mechanical engineering
- Registration as a Professional Engineer ideal or ability to obtain within 3 months
- 10 or more years of experience designing water or wastewater solutions
- Demonstrated experience interfacing with clients and successfully leading teams within multi-discipline projects
- Previous engineering experience working with food and beverage industries
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Ability to effectively manage multiple initiatives
- Ability to travel as required for project/client responsibilities
- All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations
- Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
- May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
- Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
- May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
- May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
- May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
