POSITION OVERVIEW:
AE Works is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Designer to join our growing team. In this role, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to develop innovative electrical systems for a diverse portfolio of building projects — spanning new construction and renovation across multiple market segments. From Power and Lighting to Telecommunications, you'll play a meaningful role in shaping the built environment while working alongside some of the most creative minds in the AEC industry.
LOCATION:
Pittsburgh, PA or Arlington, VA with travel to client and project sites.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist Professional Engineers in the design and construction administration of Power, Lighting, and Telecommunication systems for both new construction and renovation projects across various market segments
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to help produce high-quality deliverables for clients at all stages of design
- Coordinate drawing sets with the full project team, including in-house architects, interior designers, and sub-consultants
- Compile complete drawing packages and specifications at each project submission milestone
- Participate in internal and external meetings to collaborate with team members and clients, contributing ideas and ensuring alignment throughout the project lifecycle
- Travel with team members for on-site collaboration, field investigations, and client engagement
What’s Required:
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant field (recent graduates with relevant internship experience will be considered)
- 1-5 years of relevant industry experience in electrical design for building projects
- Demonstrated experience developing electrical, lighting, telecommunication, and fire alarm plans with minimal direct supervision
- Skilled with using cloud based and mobile technology for collaboration. Proficiency in Revit and other relevant design software.
- Exceptional communication and listening skills, capable of managing multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Proven ability to manage and balance multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, with exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical and building codes
