EMC Applications Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven EMC Applications Engineer who will be able to support sales efforts through answering customer application questions, sales partner training, as well as formal presentations of technology in webinars and at technical gatherings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics, mathematics, and physics, preferably within the EMC or electronics manufacturing industry. This role combines technical understanding, good communication skills, and industry knowledge. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted advisor to customers, delivering tailored solutions.

This position will report directly to the President.

The EMC Applications Engineer objectives include:

• Become knowledgeable in AE Techron products and EMC standards to be able to answer customer inquiries from industries such as EMC test applications for Automotive and Aerospace markets, as well as for general product inquiries in Research, Defense, Imaging, and Telecommunications markets.
• Coach, train, and support sales partners in the application of AE Techron products and solutions to problems in EMC product features, applications, and competitive advantages to align with company objectives.
• Create and present technical content, in print, email and in person for Webinars, White Papers, and customer meetings.
• Research market requirements in new industries or new applications for our products such as Sonar, Particle Accelerators, etc.
• Help identify new products to address market opportunities like HV Electric Vehicle testing (automotive, commercial and aerospace).

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:

• Provide application support across multiple industries including Research, Test Labs, Defense, and more.
• Collaborate with internal technical, operations and engineering teams to conceptualize and develop customized solutions, as well as refine present products to better fit the requirements of the market.
• Provide support for technical aspects of factory-direct relationships.
• Create and direct product tests to verify AE Techron product performance under conditions specified by prospects.
• Work to understand and integrate our products into customer systems.
• Keep CRM system up to date with accurate customer and opportunity information.
• Represent AE Techron by participating in EMC Standards committees.
• Travel, up to 10% of the time, possible.

Qualifications / Skills:

• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into customer solutions.
• Self-motivated, comfortable with very technical concepts, and able to work independently.
• Comfortable and skilled at interacting with customers, online, by phone, and in person.

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:

• Required: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, physics or equivalent work experience.
• Preferred: Understanding of EMC standards (e.g. in Aerospace, Automotive, Defense).
• Preferred: Master's degree in electrical engineering, electronics, physics or equivalent work experience.

Performance Metrics:

• Providing timely technical support to the sales team.
• Maintain and grow industry connections to both understand industry trends and identify potential product opportunities.
• Accuracy and timeliness of customer support and customer data entry into opportunity tracking systems.
• Creation of product definitions that utilize AE Techron core technologies to solve underserved customer needs in the EMC marketplace.

Anticipated Compensation Range:

• The salary range is $80k to $110k, commensurate with qualifications.
• Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
