What are the responsibilities and job description for the Healthcare Marketing Reporter position at ADWEEK?
ADWEEK is dialing up our coverage of healthcare marketing and is hiring a contract reporter to help build capacity. This is a full-time contract role: 35 hours/week at $45/hour to $60/hour. They'll join the team in August and run through October — with a possibility to extend.
We're looking for a reporter who can cover the fast-moving intersection of healthcare, pharma, and marketing—and who can move between quick-turn news and deeper analytical pieces. Expect a steady output of stories each week, with volume scaling based on story type: quicker turnaround pieces versus more involved, in-depth reporting.
Themes we're excited about (though this reporter will play a strong role in guiding coverage): the FDA's proposed DTC advertising rule; the GLP-1/telehealth advertising boom and its compliance minefield; pharmacy retail media networks (CVS, Walgreens); the health-data privacy and pixel-tracking enforcement wave; and AI in healthcare marketing—including how Google and other platforms are reshaping targeting, search, and ad products in this space.
In your cover letter, give us a sense of how you would cover this space and show us any previous work you'd like us to read that is thematically aligned.
